joan callaway - 1981 (brinley)
Callaway was recognized for her major contributions to mental health and bereavement outreach.
Years ago her husband and child were killed in a home fire. Since then she has been highly involved in the following areas:
—Bereavement Outreach, Co-Founder
—YCCC
—Guest lecturer on grief
—Mental Health Association of Yolo County
—Co-author grant proposal for therapeutic restaurant for chronic mentally ill. Received Bell Award from MHAYC
—Woodland outreach program “Building Bridges”
—Organized and led assertiveness awareness classes.
—Benefit Fashion Show for MHA, and far more in this area.
